SURFACE-MAX BIO BALLS

We are presently manufacturing and distributing SURFACE-MAX Bio-Balls, a state-of-the-art filter media for use in fresh and salt-water wet/dry systems, such as aquariums, fish, ponds, etc.  Biological filtration is the process by which waste is broken down from toxic ammonia to less-toxic nitrates.  Our Bio-Balls provide the necessary surface area for growth of nitrifying bacteria for tank filtration, and also help produce turbulence which aids in the gas-exchange process.  Our bio-balls my be randomly placed in the filter box or strung together for easier cleaning and handling.  The holes and spaces in the bio-balls provide for easy movement of oxygen, allowing it to readily come in contact with nitrifying bacteria living on the surface of the ball.  Each ball is
1-1/2 inches in diameter and has nearly 25 square inches of surface area.  The material is black polyethylene which provides positive buoyancy.  Suggested use of our bio-balls is as follows:
  Salt water: One gallon of balls per gallon of water
  Fresh water: One gallon of bio-balls per 35 gallons of water.
